Noli me tangere. Un’esperienza della reversibilità in tempi d’epidemia

Jacob Rogozinski

Abstract

Does the experience of living in a pandemic drastically change our relationship to others and to ourselves? By revealing the proximity between contact and contagion and imposing a prohibition of touch, it raises questions about the transcendental privilege of touch affirmed by phenomenology, and even before that by Aristotle. Ultimately, this required distancing appears to be merely intensifying social norms and original prohibitions highlighted by anthropology and psychoanalysis. This calls for consideration of the ethical and political implications of these prohibitions.
